Basketball: St. FX's Konchalski sat out record-breaking win

It's more clerical than controversial, really, since St. Francis Xavier coach Steve Konchalski is going to set an all-time record for coaching wins which should last a while. Still, it's amusing:
"The X-Men defeated the UPEI Panthers 94-83, in theory giving head coach Steve Konchalski the all-time CIS men’s record for coaching wins at 735, passing long-time Brandon head coach Jerry Hemmings. The caveat is Konchalski was suspended for the game as the result of an incident involving an off-court official in a game against Cape Breton last January.

" ... St. F.X. athletic director Leo MacPherson said Friday the win counts on Konchalski’s record as far as he’s concerned. So have the two other games he’s missed in his 35-year career, which resulted in a win and a loss." — Halifax Chronicle-Herald
The record will be Coach K's eventually, and who knows, maybe he'll be the first to crack 800 wins.
