I have been waiting a while for video of this goal to be posted. UNB assistant coach Andrew Brewer, the team's video coach, has put together and posted on YouTube a compilation video of UNB's Top 10 goals from the 2008-09 season, including the University Cup. You can view it here.
The #1 goal came on January 20, 2009 at 14:40 of the second period of a then 2-1 game at home against Acadia, and ended up being the game winner in the 4-2 final score. Two rookies combined in this classic: defenceman Bretton Stamler makes a perfect long stretch pass to Jordan Clendenning who is behind the Acadia defence. He blows a tire on the way to the net, but Clendenning manages to stickhandle from his knees, and go to his back hand to put the puck to the short side and up past Acadia netminder Michael Chiasson.
I'm sure there are other great CIS goals out there, and I would love to hear about them.
