Western's sports information impresario, Andy Watson, conducted an unofficial OUA coaches and media poll over the past week. Don't look so shocked at which team received 21-of-22 first-place votes.
- Western Mustangs (2nd nationally, received 21 first-place votes)
- Laurier Golden Hawks (7, received 1 first-place vote)
- Queen’s Golden Gaels (8)
- Ottawa Gee-Gees (10)
- Guelph Gryphons
- McMaster Marauders
- Windsor Lancers
- Waterloo Warriors
- U of T Varsity Blues
- York Lions
Sun Media's OUA football preview will appear in many Ontario newspapers on Friday. Apparently there's some flip-flopping with how the teams are ranked, but if anything, it was done just so not to follow the crowd. If it is Queen's-Laurier in the 2-3 spots and McMaster-Ottawa-Guelph in the 4-5-6 in place of Ottawa-Guelph-McMaster, it is really nothing to take seriously.
All that matters is what is between the white lines, starting Sunday.
