Footy: Dal's Nearing talks up made-in-Canada talent

CIS men's soccer has made great strides the past few years, with York alum Nana Attakora now getting regular playing time with Toronto FC in MLS.

Dalhousie Tigers men's soccer coach Pat Nearing talked up CIS footy talent last weekend on It's Called Football, a show co-hosted by Duane Rollins, who is well-known as a chronicler of the three-down, helmets-and-pads football.

Nearing talked about what coaches such as himself and Carleton's Sandy Mackie are doing to get CIS players under the umbrella of the MLS Super Draft, which would be a great leap forward and might encourage more players to stay home for their schooling. The interview starts around 22:13 in the clip below.

Duane's The 24th Minute is an excellent source for a footy fix, covering the Canadian game at all levels.
