"Israel Idonije had his knee scoped Monday, the Bears announced. The defensive lineman's left knee took a hit during the Pittsburgh game a couple of weeks ago.
"He was questionable leading into the Detroit game but played despite the injury. Idonije even forced a fumble and had a sack against the Lions. The Bears wanted to perform the minor surgery now during the bye week so Idonije would have extra time to heal."
The Chicago Tribune's Huddle Up is a great resource for anyone who cheers for the Bears in the NFL. There are always a feel in every crowd who were at an impressionable age during that fluke Super Bowl season in 1985 and have since been deluded into believing the Bears are a good team, so says the fan of another NFC North whose team also had a 15-1 season and did not even make the Super Bowl. ("Damn!")
