Men's basketball: Silver living for Craddock and the Cascades

Nothing replaces winning, but those following Barnaby Craddock's progress at Fraser Valley should take note that the Cascades had four players on Van Province beat writer Howard Tsumura's Pacific Division all-rookie team.

Guards Sam Freeman and Gurjote Jhaj and forwards Josh Kufske and Jasper Moedt were each acknowledged by Tsumura. Guard Tristan Smith was selected as most improved player. That is an entire starting five (if an undersized one), but there's potential there for UFV to improve on its 7-16 record in Canada West (their most impressive win was probably an 89-88 win over Brandon, Craddock's former team).

It is an uphill battle for the B.C. Interior schools, but then again, their conference could look radically different in two years' time...
