Football: Former 1,000-yard rusher Kozina returns to Mac

Our McMaster preview will be up before midnight, honest, but first things first there is some news out of the Hammer:

"McMaster's football training camp kicks off today and a familiar face will be back on the field this week.

"Running back Jordan Kozina has returned to the Marauders for his last 2 years of CIS eligibility.

"He sat out last season to play rugby with the Canadian national team."

Needless to say, this should be welcome news, although Kozina has not played football since 2006. He has been centralized with the Canadian rugby team.

By the way, ask a rugby coach what's the biggest challenge about having football players, and they'll say it's getting them to change their tackling technique. That's not a problem for an offensive player.

  1. The addition of Kozina is big but it is still a team game. I think Mac has the horses this year on the O-Line and they have strengthen their Defense as well with key additions along the line and in the secondary. I look for them to challenge and possibly make a run into the top 4 of the OUA. We will find out in week 2 when they face Queens in Kingston.
