Hockey: Ex-UNB 'tender Ouzas thriving in ECHL

Michael Ouzas, who led UNB to the University Cup two seasons ago (and a return trip to the men's hockey national title game last season) is doing quite well in the ECHL — he's been named goaltender of the week.

The Toronto Maple Leafs farmhead (too bad they don't have any goaltending issues) was with the Fresno Falcons when they folded last month. He's put up a .914 save percentage since going over to the Reading Royals.

Of course, former UNB coach Don MacAdam is also in the news, since he's been hired to coach the QMJHL's Lewiston MAINEiacs.

(Small world: The other candidates for the ECHL weekly honour were former Kingston Frontenac John Murray, and Ryan Nie, whom yours truly wrote about during his OHL days since he hails from the Simcoe Reformer's coverage area.)
