Football: Marauders land highly recruited kicker

McMaster coach Stefan Ptaszek is hopeful he's found a Brian Devlin for the new decade.

You would recall that when Ptaszek was offensive coordinator with Laurier's 2005 Vanier Cup winner, the Golden Hawks had a pretty good kicker in Devlin, who made the game-winner in the 2005 final. Now his Marauders have
landed a prized kicking specialist out of Ottawa, Tyler Crapigna, who has set Ontario Varsity Football League records at all levels.

The tendency with this site is to be catch-as-catch-can with recruiting news. Crapigna, who was profiled in the Ottawa Sun recently, seems like the real deal. He might be a one-man argument for why the kickoff spot in amateur football should be moved back from the 45-yard line.

  1. This actually pretty big for this team. Andy Waugh struggled at times last lear, as I'm sure anyone who saw the Mac-Queen's OUA Semi-Final last year will recall.
