Hoops: Gee-Gees star sidelined

It's never good to see the dreaded words "point guard by committee" in a school's press notes, but there they are in the University of Ottawa's release for the weekend.

Gee-Gees star Josh Gibson-Bascombe, who's averaging 18.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists, is out indefinitely with a partial tear of his right MCL knee ligament and sprained ankle suffered last weekend. The Gee-Gees will likely face a first-round OUA East playoff game in just 12 days against Ryerson and York, neither of whom are pushovers.

It's a safe bet cishoops.ca should have more in the morning on the Gee-Gees' injury situation; their next best option at point guard, freshman Jacob Gibson-Bascombe, has been nicked-up lately too.
