MUBL: Final week of Season 2

For the second year in a row, we enter the last week of competition with:

  • two players left in contention;
  • those two players facing each other;
  • and the second-place team needing a clean sweep to win the championship.

Should be a fun week.

Now, to be fair, Alex Tourigny's season-long lead may not really be at risk, since he's never lost a majority of the categories and now would have to lose every single one of them (even a tie in any category would clinch a win). If Neate Sager wins eight of eight categories, they will have identical records, and Neate would own the tiebreaker of head-to-head record: Alex previously won 5-3-0, so the total would be 5-11-0 against him.

However, as he pointed out himself, Greg Stewart's WolfPack are not playing this week. Stewart has accounted for 46% of Alex's rebounds, and his presence basically guarantees a category win. Then again, there are seven other categories...

For posterity, the lineups for this final week are:

Alex: Jean-François Beaulieu-Maheux, Max Allin, Rejean Chabot, Ryan MacKinnon, Simon Bibeau, Philip Scrubb

Neate: Sam Freeman, Jamelle Barrett, Andrew Wedemire, Jeff Price, Monty Hardware, Owen Klassen

Full results are here. The games tonight (Wednesday) counted, of course, and so far ... well, so far only one player has played for either team. So there's nothing really to report yet. But we'll try to have daily updates on this as the weekend unfolds.
