Football: Laurier alum Luciani picked up by CFL's Alouettes

Former Laurier wideout Dante Luciani tweeted that he has signed with the Montréal Alouettes as a free agent.

Luciani, best known for making the catch that set up the winning field goal in the 2005 Vanier Cup, was previously with Edmonton. The Als had him in for a workout on Thursday.

Coincidentally, Luciani was signed the week that his teammate from the '05 Golden Hawks national championship team, Joel Wright, suffered a season-ending knee injury.
