How can you not be excited if you are a Queen&#39;s student. Secondly, why get upset at the fans for rushing the field and celebrating with the team? After all, the players do have a lot of friends. (Yes, slamming jackets in front of the Laval bench might have been disrespectful but that&#39;s a tradition that has been with Queen&#39;s for decades, it happens) Thirdly, there was security working the game and in the last minute they lined up facing the student crowd. Do you really think they were going to stop the students?? No they weren&#39;t. 7000 screaming fans vs. maybe 15-20 security personnel. I just don&#39;t understand why security(if there was any...) let fans rush onto the field and let some idiots get near the Laval bench while the players were very emotional...This could have been ugly had the Laval players decided not to accept this kind of humiliation. What I saw on TV, I am going to say it again, was a DISGRACE. These fans are the ones that have to grow up. I love any team who beats Laval, really. And this game was very enjoyable.<br /><br />This being said, to those of you who think so highly of Queen&#39;s... So you need an 87% average to get in... Ask Queen&#39;s football coaches how many of their players had such an avegage. I am certain a fair number got in with lower, maybe much lower averages than that. <br /><br />What&#39;s more, an 87% average in Ontario is like having a high 70% average in the QC Cegep system. It&#39;s good but it&#39;s by no means great. Before anyone contradicts me on that point, ask McGill, Concordia and Bishop&#39;s admissions officers if an 87% average in Ontario is that great. More importantly, ask them which student will be more mature and has a greater chance of success in university: the Ontario student or the Cegep student.<br /><br />On another note, Ontario subsidizes its post-secondary education system too. That&#39;s why your tuition is $5-6000, not $12-15000. The same goes with your college system (Seneca, Humber, etc.). Tuition would be much higher if it wasn&#39;t for gov. subsidies. <br /><br />Finally, most QC university students are 19 at the start of their studies. So yes, they are a little older than Ontario students. But they also graduate within 3 years, not 4. So the age difference is only relevant to &#39;first year&#39; students.<br /><br />Again, I am no Laval University or Laval R&amp;O fan. But your comments are baseless and reflect your poor understanding of what&#39;s not Ontarian. You should represent Queen&#39;s a little better my friend. <br /><br />PS: If you make the trip to QC City next week, try not to vandalize stuff and try to be polite. I know it&#39;s hard for an average Ontarian to understand, but just so you know, this is not an acceptable behaviour in most areas around the world, and certainly not in your neighbouring province.
