Western student 'cheerleader of the week' at SI.com

A mention at Sports Illustrated does not come not come along every day, so in that spirit it must be passed along Western Mustangs' Danielle Hilliard is featured as SI.com's cheerleader of the week.
"The most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to me during a game is: Before a game, we were warming up on the grass and I did the splits right beside an ant hill. They climbed up my leg and as I freaked out and tried to get them off, they all started to bite me. I had red bumps all the way up the inside of my leg from ant bites. Needless to say, it wasn't an attractive look in my cheer skirt. I was embarrassed to do anything during the entire game."
There is an extensive photo gallery people might find kind of appealing.

It's good publicity for Ms. Hilliard and probably a pretty proud moment for her family, friends and the Western cheerleading team, so please spare the jokes about how someone who is blond, from Toronto and likes The Hills must stick out like a sore thumb at Western. (Exposed underwear, though?)

Those cheerleaders are pretty hard workers, and pretty frickin' fearless to do some of those stunts. Let's focus there, notwithstanding what one might think about a respected sports publication posting photo galleries for office workers to salivate over in lieu of good writing and reporting.

  2. If I'm not mistaken, Western routinely competes against NCAA schools in cheer competitions.

  3. And does pretty well. They have won the Canadian competitive title pretty much every year, although Queen's snapped that skein in 2007.

The only reason I remember this was because during my tenure as Queen's Journal sports ed., the Queen's team was ecstatic after it got second at nationals. They explained that basically everyone was competing for second after Western.

  4. Is it ever a good idea to do a sexy pose on a WWII relic?

  5. If the WWII relic is Hugh Hefner, it seems socially acceptable.

  6. Speaking of Hugh Hefner and WW II....
Remember December 7, 1941, the day that will live in infamy?
Most think it refers to Pearl Harbor, but it is actually the last time Hefner dated a woman his own age.

  8. The Hef Hate?
Au contraire, mon frere..I'm actually really envious of the old geezer.
He'll get more action after his 80th birthday than I will in my entire life, even if it is with the aid of Viagra In A Drum.
One thing about Hef...he's no longer sleeping with chicks young enough to be his daughter...that's cuz they're too damn OLD!

  10. Even though Western has the party-school reputation the resident prudes in the administration (and the Women's Studies program)will probably ape-s*** about the kid's photo shoot.

I say flaunt it while you got it.
